NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF
PARISH COUNCILLOR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that due to the resignation of Councillor Mrs Lynsey Blane a casual vacancy exists in the office of Councillor for the said Parish.

On receipt of a request in writing from any ten local government electors for the said Parish, an election to fill the vacancy will be held within sixty days. If no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council. Requests for such an election should be addressed to The Returning Officer, West Lancashire District Council, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF to arrive no later than fourteen days from the date on this notice (computed in accordance with Rule 2 of Schedule 2 of the Local Elections Parish and Communities Rules 1986)

Temporary road closure of Dicconsons Lane – Halsall

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DICCONSONS LANE, HALSALL, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an
Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads
set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian to proceed
over that length of Dicconsons Lane, from a point outside property number
5 Dicconsons Lane to a point outside Blundell House Water Treatment
Works in the borough of West Lancashire.

2. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Monday 30th
January 2017 until 1700 hours on Friday 3rd February 2017 or, until

completion of the works within this period.

3. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:

Dicconsons Lane – Halsall Lane – Narrow Lane – Summerwood Lane –
A5147 New Street – A5147 Mill Brow – A5147 Southport Road – A5147
Wanishar Lane – A5147 Delf Lane – B5195 Broad Lane – Bye Lane and
vice versa

The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable new water main construction
works to be carried out.

Queen’s 90th Birthday Afternoon Tea Party

To honour the Queen’s 90th Birthday, an Afternoon Tea Party will be held at Haskayne Village Hall on Sunday 12th June 2pm-4.30pm. The whole Community are invited to join in the celebrations. There will be free refreshments and fun and games for all.

Haskayne & Downholland Community Association (HDCA) are asking for volunteers and would be most grateful if anyone can help.

A meeting will be held at the hall on Thursday 2nd June at 7.30pm to make plans.
